In the Agricultural Chemicals and Agriculture-related Business, in order to respond to the Strategy for Sustainable Food Systems, MeaDRI , we are continuing research on the creation of safer and more reliable chemical pesticides and accelerating research and development on microbial agrochemicals, biostimulants, etc. In addition, we aim to create value that contributes to agriculture in a broad range of areas by, for example, initiating research into controlling greenhouse gas emissions from agricultural land. Furthermore, we will continue to develop products with the SDGs and ESG in mind, as well as continue research and development of environmentally-friendly manufacturing technologies.
In the Fine Chemicals Business, we are engaged in research and development in the fields of polymeric raw materials, pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, electronic materials, and dyes to contribute to the realization of a prosperous society. In addition, we will grow the fine chemicals business to become the second core of our business by expanding our contract manufacturing business using the organic synthesis technology cultivated in the agrochemical business.
We believe that the mission of our Research & Development Division is to drive the expansion of our research and business domains through the development of innovative technologies, thereby driving the enhancement of our corporate value. In addition, to create a state-of-the-art research environment, the new Chemical Research Institute, Shimizu Innovation Park (ShIP) which integrated three Chemical Research Centers, has started operations in 2023, and the improvement of the Life Science Research Institute is well on. Through research and development based on the world's most talented human resources and state-of-the-art research, we contribute to the realization of an affluent society.
